The previous owner showed me wires under the tank and said they were stock ATK wires for adding lights. Does anyone know if the bike is 12v or 6v AND what the lighting stator puts out for wattage? thanks!

That's alot of output. If it really is 160 watts, that's plenty for a street legal headlight. http://www.motorcycle.com/manufacturer/atk-1997-16148.html Don't think anyone has used 6v systems for a long time, so it should be a 12v.
