My son's buddy just blew the top end out of his '98 RM125. I tore it down, and we're going to get it fixed but I noticed that it didn't have any cross hatch marks in the bore. It is either in dyre need of freshening up, or it's chrome. Anyone know?

i would think its a plated cylinder-if its got no cross hatch then i guess its replate time.

Yes its plated unless someone put a sleeve in it. I have a 97 on the original bore and i can still see the cross-hatch marks.

I have had Kawasaki cylinders before that were plated and I don't remember there being any cross hatch marks in the chrome. Am I mistaken, I thought that the chrome cylinders were smooth..but hey, you guys are the experts, tell me if I'm wrong! Anyone know that the diameter and tolerance of the bore is?
