Found a 1999 CR 125 for $1900.00. The bike looks ok. Will listen to it run soon. Does this sound like a good deal? Also, would like any feedback on owners of this year make. Thanks. BRS.

Don't know any feedback, but if it runs good and nothing major is wrong that is a pretty good deal.

Actually Buying new is also a good way of paying too much. Ask me if I know.

No I am sorry but it's not a good idea! I know what people here say about magazine but 5 out 5 mags said it was one of the worst 125's they ever rode!
In fact Dirtrider said it was so far gone that it was almost unrideable!! sp??

He's right

John T. hit it on the head. The '98 and '99 CR 125's had a poor motor and popping ignition. The suspenders were terrible at best. I am a Honda rider and refused to own a CR125 during these years. They were not very good bikes. Save your money and buy a 2000 CR125 when you can. This is a much better bike.

Thanks much for the frank comments. I do appreciate them. I will look elcewhere. For my size 195 lbs, and experiance, novis, would a 250 be more suited to me? Or would a 125 be ok?

If you do some sand pit riding and trails you'll want a 250. A 125 is great if you want a lightweight bike in a MX track.
