2 stroke 80 bogging

I have a ds80 and put a new air filter in... It starts up fine even revs great but after I go about 10 feet it starts to bog and dies out unless I pull the clutch and gas it... Any help will be great.. Thanks

My guess is that your air filter is over oiled and the oil is gumming up the carb.

I was thinking that it may be that, I did spay the filter generously :bang: ....Thanks

It sounds like something similiar that just happened to me. What cured it was I took the carb out and cleaned all the jets with carb cleaner and it did the trick!

Check the spark arrester in the exhaust. The screen clogs up and won't let the the engine throttle up. You can usually clean it in carb cleaner or a parts washer. :bang:
