My son and I are for sure. My kid just finished a 1978 YZ125
for himself. he bought it barely running, no 1st or 6th. After
a tear down we found a re-used circlip had come off and a washer
was missing off the end of the input shaft. Piston had a chunk
that ruined the stock bore and we had to go 5 overs to clean it up.
Not a concours resto but a daily rider. He started at 9 yrs old on a PW 80. At 13 he got a 77yz125 with a DT, or a PT 100 engine in it, free.
It still runs nice but too slow. He seen the 78 YZ cheap so I said
buy her up. I found a complete mint tranny on ebay for 28 bucks
and a PRO-X rod kit for 60 bucks. My friend rebuilt the crank.
We replaced all bearings in motor and insalled a like new tranny. The little beggar
really rips, and my boy is real proud of his new toy as I am of
him for the hard work and dedication. A complete teardown and
re-assembly that took him about 3 months to complete. The bike
is now finished and has proved itself to be as fast as it ever was.
He spends all his extra riding it and it works nice. That made
my summer, it's all he does, work, ride, work, ride....sure better
than some of the alternatives, eh!

We are also into Kawasaki Triples, I have 2 1972 H2's to restore
over the next few years, one I just found last weekend for 200
bucks (the 72 H2 fetch 1200-1500 in terrible condition). Also a beauty 72 H1B I did a complete restore over a couple years. As well as a sweet 1976 KH500, the last year for the H1. My son also has an S3-400 triple but he can't afford the insurance yet.

Anyway that's me, a 2 stroke freak for sure.

Hello. I am a 2t freak as well. My old street bikes were all Yamaha RD's and have never owned anything (for myself) but 2t's.
