2 stroke head queries - 380 head pics and measurements

This is on a 2000 ktm 380.
I had a local shop cut my head for reduced squish a while back. They assured me they knew what they were doing, and would shape the squish band so compression wasn't increased. Am in the middle of rebuilding the engine, upon looking at the head it has an awful lot of taper in the squish band. What little info I've been able to find suggests this is not very effective, if any taper, it should be more like 2 or 3 degrees. Any thoughts appreciated.

why did you have it reshaped?
they must have milled the head to offset the differance for the lost matl' right?

standard squish was over 0.100"... not exactly optimum.
