I have a chance to buy a '00 200 EXC but I want to know what the major differences are between say the '00 and the '03.
My friend has an '03 that I have ridden so I can use it as a reference point.

Thanks,

Matt

There are alot of cosmetic diff. some suspension differences. overall the bikes are similar, but the 03 just works alot better.

on the exc model you wouldnt notice a difference i wouldnt say an 03 handles a lot better i would say if both stock an 03 handles a little better, not anything the rider couldnt make up

the 03 has a little better suspension but not much and also a little differant
riding position which the 03 tank and seat on the 00 will make it the same
but my dealer says (which is a pro racer) not enought differance between the
two of them to be worth putting the 03 parts on the older bikes

I owned an '01 200 EXC and have ridden a '00 200 EXC and found very little difference between. I recently purchase an '03 200 MXC and the main difference I see is the motor. The '03 seems to have WAY more motor than the '00 or '01. I have also ridden an '04 and it's motor is equal or better than the '03. The '04 suspension is the best I have ridden out of the box.
