2001 yz 250 power valve

I have an 01 yz 250 that i ride and race in the woods, the first piston change i made i discovered that the power valve had broken around the flange area that acts as a stop in the cylinder. i chalked the first one up to just a bad factory part. I replaced the valve and upon disassembly for a second top end job i discovered that the power valve was broken in the same place again. Any body else had this problem?

i never asked Eric Gorr about it when i called him the other day, i have to speak to him a few days and see what he thinks

You guys are getting me worried, is this problem consistent only in the '01 or should I be concerned on my '00?
Yamadawg, was your fracture the same as Bruce's?

i am going to try to get some pictures this weekend and post here so yall can have a look at the area where the breakage has occured. Not sure if yalls are broke in the same area but yep looks like im buying number 3. Will diffently keep you guys posted and up to date on my findings. Thanks for the intrest and advice guys.

ok my bad didnt realize till just now that there was a pic of this on the former thread. Yep thats exactly where mine has broken not once but twice. somethig weird is going on here.
