2001 yz250 front fork

I just got a yz250 and noticed a small leak from the left front fork from the black seal when the suspension traveles up and down. What should I do to fix the problem, and if I dont fix it and it runs out of oil will it ruin the suspension.

Get it fixed . Just needs new seals and oil . The more oil that leaks out the more you will bottom out.

You can try sliding down the dust cap and swiping a thin card between the fork tube and fork seals to remove anything that might be causing premature leakage.
