Heres the deal. I have to sell my 99 yz 125 in order to get a car. The problem is, I cannot go without a bike!!! I noticed that kawasaki is doing no payments until next year. I will just pay it off entirely in one year but my question is, will I be happy with the KX?
What do you guys think of it? How will it compare to my yz? Thanx

I wouldnt buy one at least not an 02, the 03 will be sweet. Why would you buy a bike that hasnt been changed in years. Usually when the manufacturer is giving good deals on financing and it is only on certain models there is a good reason. I would assume it is on all 02 KXs but that whole line up was in bad need of the chasis upgrades it is getting in 03.

Best of luck.

they need to dump all the 02 cause once the 03's come out consumers won't want that "old" piece of.....

If you are POSITIVE you'll have the money to pay it COMPLETELY off in 11 1/2 months then go for it...but if you don't have the money when the bank comes knocking you'll get hit with 20% or more interest rates :scream:

I rode a few laps on a local MX track on the '02 KX 125 when it first came out. I really liked the bike and tried to sell my '01 YZ 125 to get an '02 KX 125. The KX had strong low-to-mid power but not a ton of top. You have to shift a little more often with the stock '02 KX because it revs out a little quicker. But the handling and cornering wasn't much different that my YZ. The stock suspension was surprisingly very forgiving and plush and it tracked pretty straight through whoops and rough stuff. Tight corners were a little tough, but sweeping corners were great. One thing I really liked is that you could roll on the throttle through the corners without much use of the clutch. You can't do that as easily on a YZ. Heck - I was even hitting a few jumps on the KX test ride that I didn't do on my YZ at that track. I think the KX will be kinda similar to your '99 YZ 125 (minus a little over-rev power). The new KX's are supposed to be sweet, though... but don't they say that stuff every year about every bike?

i keep hearing the 2001-2002 kx125's were underpowered, i believe that you should still wait for a 2003, you can get a 2002, and you can make an underpowered engine faster
