I am wanting to have a little fun with this bike. I want to put a ktm 144 sx crank in 07-08 in it. I am hoping the crank is a stroker? but not sure does anyone know how to find out? Ok i did a little more digging and it seems the sx 04 has a stroke of 54.5 mm and a 08 sx 144 has a stroke of 58.5 mm? I need some thoughts on this.

Is it a stock crank? Have you checked the specs to see if the stroke was any different?

Are the main bearing and wrist pin sizes the same?

I believe this will work. I had a cursory look at it a few years ago. I've done some stuff with strokers in other 2 stroke engines and typically you just need to shim the cylinder higher with hand cut brass or aluminum base plate gaskets to make up the difference with the head. You may have the piston hang 2mm below the exhaust and transfer ports but not much can be done with this other than cutting the head.
