2006 Yz125 used with 10hrs or a new RM125

The YZ125 would cost 4K, and the RM125 would cost 5157.00 out the door. What do u guys think? I weigh 135lbs. I can basically buy either bike, send off the suspension to factory connection for revalve, pipe, silencer, v-force3, handguards, skid plate, o-ring chain, devol radiator guards, and frame guards. The only damage on the yz is scratched plastics, no big deal.

Im getting a loan for 6K to fund it all. What do u guys honesltly think I should pick? The yz weighs 5lbs less when dry. Any input would be nice.

Same here, it is the sweetest 125 I have ever ridden. The power is so smooth and it has a lot of bottom end for a 125.

Trust me the YZ! we're close to the same wieght you won't have to waste the cash on a revalve, go for the YZ tear it down and grease the linkage bearings and bleed the brakes and throw in a new air fliter and just give it a good once over. The RM all though a good bike the YZ just has more going for it.

Real weight of the bikes without gas in the tanks is more like:

YZ = 200 lbs
RM = 208 lbs

I love my RM, and I don't think you could go wrong with either, but I've heard a lot of good stuff about that YZ.

Given the price, you have to go with the YZ.

I don't think there's a 125 out there that feels as flickable, or handles/carves as well as an RM. But..........the YZ does have way more motor, and especially at the price, go YZ........they're good bikes.

It's not like the RM's are dogs - but the YZ is apparently a beast. A 10 hour bike is hardly used.

I would be real leary of buying any 125 for premium dollars right now, you get killed on price when you go to sell it now, you can't give them away.

Just found an 04 kx125 for 3600, still on the floor

I was paruzing the internet and found an 04 kx125 for 3600.00 within 300 miles. It's still on the floor and hasnt been bought yet. What do ya guys think? I think im gonna jump on it. That would leave me with 2k left for decking it out and some extra protective gear.

Good bike but look at my sig and you'll see what my last bike was before the YZ, I would still get the YZ.

I was guessing by your list of mods you plan on doing, that you were a woods rider. This is where the YZ will really shine for you........it has real good low-end, and broad power (for a 125). I've ridden/raced both KX'x and RM's in the woods........wish they both had YZ motors........with lowering the cyl deck height, head work, and other little "tricks" you can get the other 125's close to the YZ motor.........or, get the YZ.

I wouldn't drop $3600 on a 2 year old bike, when you could get a current year model YZ for $400 more. You should get your $400 (maybe more) back in resale, when you sell the '06 YZ 125 compared to an '04 KX 125. Plus I believe the '05-'06 YZ 125 to be the best choice out there when it comes to 125's.

The only concern I would have is why someone is selling an '06 YZ 125 with 10 hours? I'm always scared when I see such a new bike for sale that there might be something wrong with it.

I would go with the yz I've always owned yamaha's and imo there the best I currently own a yz250 and I love it
