230 vs 200

i have a crf 230, but need more bike, i thought about 125s and 250fs, but realized i will be on a track maybe once a year. I spen d the rest of the time in the desert, socal desert. is a 200/220 a big step up from the 230 (which is waht i really need) and is it much different from say a wr250 or a crf 250x?

A KDX will have more motor than all those bikes.

I've rode a 230 and a wr250. I'll take my old 99 kdx 200 any day of the week
