Russ Fletcher. It's being all done through Big Gun. I figure there's about 30 or so hours on the engine. Since it will be almost all apart anyway, I going to have the crank rebuilt and the timing chain replaced. Don't care if the are worn out or not. Call it preventative maint. by a guy who is very hard on his engines. I rebuild the bottom ends in my 2-strokes every 8 weeks. If I don't I am gauranteed problems.
Big Gun sponsors me, so I am not sure how much the cost is. I do know that they are coming out with different stages of the same engine. It the same one that Brandes runs in the nationals. As for reliablity, I know for a fact that he ran 4 nationals, including the practice sessions, without even re-ringing his bike.
I am also told that the full mod gives the bike approx 12hp over stock when combined with the Big Gun pipe. Given, the pipe accounts for 3 to 4 hp, but that's still a healthy gain. I was told that these figures are dyno figures, but do not know the type of dyno- I'll try to find out.
If you want more information on the different stages- give Big Gun a call, and tell them Paul Kellen sent you.
