ktms can tend to be a bit more money, yet i believe with ktms you get what you pay for, they aren't oriental bikes, they are made in europe ehh, i think austria? something like that. nice bikes.
well i think an older rm 250 would fit you nice, a used 99 rm will run you probbaly around 2000, it is a 250 2 stroke, but your height is good. look around your area, a 250 or 125 2 stroke, a 4 stroke owuld be better to start on but will be more money. nowadays theres not much difference between the two, the four strokes just have a more " consistent" power band if you will. i like 2 strokes way better though
Well...besides twice the displacement and more power the 250 has a longer swing arm on most bikes. Ive always had a 250 so i cannot comment on the power difference but i love the rush of 250 smoker when you get on it. There isnt much power down low, but wow do they blast off from there. A 250 four stroke will seem almost too tame after riding a two stroke but they are very predictable and easy to ride. i will be getting a CRF250X as a second bike soon. Rode one yesterday. Totally different animal than a smoker.

They seem to hold thier value better than the jap brands. I found out a few months ago I could've got a new 08 200xc for 10 bucks more otd than the leftover crf :bang: . I thought that was CHEAP for a bike of that quality. Oh well, in a few years.
yeah, i know only a couple people with them personally, but from what i can see they are really nice bikes, and to think, that my bikes brand (atk) was once a cousin company with ktm, and that up until the early ninetieis they had the same engines, is nice lol, both have kick starts on the left, and chains as well. both like the higher rpms :)
