First off we had a great ride. A non-DRN buddy and I met up with tx246 and we headed up to Lake Murray. A little non-DRN'er bad karma reared its ugly head as my buddy's bike fell over on the trailer in a parking lot, doh. I told him to register himself. Oh, well, push on. We arrived at the parking area at about 8:15AM and were the first ones in the gate. Okies must sleep in on Sunday. Nice facilities, clean restrooms, showers, freshly limestoned parking area, generally well organized. Only thing missing is a bike wash and boy it would have come in handy. The riding area is about 1000 acres according to the park ranger. Its not as organized as it could be but there are a few really cool trails w/o any crossings that you can really cruise on and not have to worry about getting t-boned. The 3 of us rode for a while until the non-DRN'er bad karma struck again and my buddy smacked his shin on a tree and got tossed off his bike (I told him to register himself :| ). We went back to parking area to let him rest and BSWIFT and OldMaicoNut pulled in. They got geared up and 4 of us headed out as my buddy decided he was done. We rode around and at times did our best impressions of "Muddy the Mudskipper". It was dry for the most part but there were some low lying areas that were pretty nasty. But like OldMaicoNut said: you're riding dirt bikes, you're gonna get dirty, carry some momentum. Good advice for mud no doubt. The Tejas contingent headed out a little early but the HS'ers stayed to get some more riding in. It was everybody's first time there except for tx246. Thanks for taking point all day. We logged a little under 40 miles throughout the course of the morning according to the GPS. Fun ride for sure. Definitely plan on a return trip. Good to see the OK guys again. See ya at the Dallas SX.
