Matt Hagen set a new NHRA record with two passes that were within 1% difference in Charlotte, NC. The first pass was a 3.995 @ 327 MPH and the second was a 4.010 @ 322 MPH. Now that is smokin' fast! There is nothing funny about that Funny Car.

Can you imagine... 1000 hp per cylinder! Gotta be an art to get hook-up, and he did.

I would have enjoyed hearing the engine, as it went past the finish line. Being by the start was dangerous! I was glad my old friend Dale Creasy jr, is getting back into it, but I do not think he made this outing. i did catch this second run on the idiot box, it was awesome! Next will be Rich, in that pick up?

I would sure enjoy the feeling! Right up there with taking a ride in a fighter jet. I wonder if they are all over the Gopros?

Incredible.

How many g's is that averaging for the 4 seconds?
316.23 MPH = 141.37 m/s

Since it took 4 seconds to get to that speed...

141.37 m/s divided by 4 seconds = 35.34 m/s2

Since gravity is 9.8 m/s2 ...

35.34 / 9.8 = 3.6 Gs average

:whoa: This kinda smarty-pants stuff is part of why we have big-brained people that are a part of crazy-fast cars.

I ride dirtbikes, my half brother got all the brains, he's the 'Editor in Cheif' at Hot Rod magazine.

Drag racing?... earplugs and a beer. I'm good.

I heard about that. Amazing. I can still remember when Eddie Hill hit 4.99 in 1988 at the Texas Motorplex in a Top Fuel Dragster. I was standing at the fence at the finish line and I was awestruck. Now funny cars are going a full second faster.... amazing.

Thats funny Thump. I was all over drag racing in the 80s and early 90s. I remember Eddies first 4.99 along with when he first quit the boats and built a car. Never was a nicer guy and team for that matter. Always fan friendly.

As far as 1000hp per cylinder goes.....Imagine if it was a blown/injected two stroke!!!!!
