The sad thing is if they've never been arrested before, the courts and the District Attorney will plead it out real fast. The best way, which I've used, and is real effective, is to file it as a conspiracy. All three defendants, no matter what their roles were in the thefts, get the same charges of theft against them. Let's say that two guys did the actuall taking and one only helped hide them later at his house. All three get the charge of theft and possession. It's pretty easy to show that all three had their part in it, no matter how little. If they've had prior arrest for the same charges it makes a difference on the pleading now. State to State is different so this may not apply in your state as it does in mine. If you need any help in understanding the charges or pleading or court procedures, let me know and I'll explain it to you. Good luck. Stick with it, no matter what sentence they get, if it's the first, it'll help next time because, THERE WILL BE A NEXT TIME! Elk
