A bottom end job is approaching...here's what I know about the crankshaft bearings:

-- OEM bearings insanely expensive (what else is new)
-- Standard bearing number not provided in parts guide
-- Have heard of aftermarket bearings that fit, but they come with a metal cage vs. plastic for OEM (not sure if that's good or bad)

Can anyone comment? Thanks.

Pull it apart and get the numbers off the bearings. Its even possible to get a higher grade bearing than OEM of the same size for much less at a bearing supply house. KTM is insane with their parts prices, I got a small bearing from a bearing supply for $3.20 that KTM wanted over $17 for!
