We hope that you are a true enthusiast of the 4-Stroke Nationals that have been in existence since 1996, that's 8 years and the series is gaining more and more riders from many states and around the world.

January, 2004
The 2004 Western 4-Stroke Motocross Nationals are just about here - It’s coming up fast! Hope that you all have had a good off-season and will be ready for Round #1, taking place in Surprise, Arizona at Speedworld MX Park per usual, the 21st and 22nd of February. Saturday is the debut of the new W4SN 250F class!

Hey, I have heard from riders who said 2003 seemed like a longer series than before. But, in actuality it was again only ten events. I know it was quite the haul and since I drove to seven rounds, “Hats off to the riders, mechanics, fathers, mothers, wives, girlfriends and anyone else who help the riders make it to the races. Kudos to you and yours.” Participation for the 2003 series was totally incredible, as we set a new record of 88 at the first round and then 96 Pro’s at the W4SN second event. Previously the rider turnout record was held in the Pacific Northwest at 83. Thank you for coming this past season!

Well now, it’s time that I send newsletters to everyone and let you know we look forward to seeing you in 2004. We ask you to keep coming to the races, enjoy the competition and supporting the 4-Stroke Nationals.
Below is the final points tally, with riders who made it into the main events, thus earning the Number in front of your name. Please make all preparations to have your number already on your jersey(s), chest protectors, and have Yellow Backgrounds on bikes prior to each round. Thank you “4” being part of the reason that we cater to the real participants, our riders. Riders requesting their assigned number need to contact us, ASAP. The 4-Stroke National promoters and all the coworkers know that without you, there couldn’t be such heart felt events. We will look to see you again soon.

Riders, if you would like to be featured in the National Programs that come to all rounds, as well as are posted on the website at www.4StrokeNationals.com, please send face photo, riding #, bike brand and sizes, along with sponsor list, accomplishments, mechanic name, etc. I need this by January 15th in order to get this printed in the programs.

QUESTION:
Track promoters offering a $2000 Pro Purse for the 250F’s - would you ride both the Premier Class and the 250F class if the 250F’s were ran on Saturday? Round #1 is doing just that. Be watching for other promoters to offer that on Saturday, in order to provide a Pro rider to earn points on both days. Other promoters are running both classes on SUNDAY. The premier class will once again offer the $7000 Purse, paying top 20 positions, per moto. Your input will be well received ASAP - please email, or call me.

Congratulations go out to the riders who qualified for “The Riders Points Fund”, participating and qualifying for at least seven of ten events - in the main motos. As posted on the website as well as on page four, paragraph two in the 2003 National Programs, this “Riders Points Fund” was designed to help the riders who maintained this agenda by using the “Riders Points Fund” 45 point system, not the AMA 25 point system. Those riders included: Paul Carpenter, Jason McCormick, Spud Walters, Dustin Nelson, Mike Corder, Nathan Woods, Brandon Morgan, Robb Floth, Konnrad Kuest, Danny Carlson, Kevin Townsend, Ty Carson, Beau Judge and Bryan Allen. The “Riders Points Fund” will be the same in 2004 from the track promoters and will be contingent on competing in 65% or more of the races. There will not be a “Riders Points Fund” in the 250F Pro Class, unless manufacturers or sponsors contribute to a Riders Points Fund.

In conclusion, a HUGE thank you goes out to "Title Sponsors" Maxxis Tires & VP Racing Fuels with our Cosponsors: Super Fast Performance, TelephotoXpress, Maxima Oils, Spy Eyes, White Brothers, American Honda, DeCal Works, FMF, THOR Race Gear, Big Gun Exhaust, Hooters Restaurants, Hansen’s Energy Drink, Yamaha, Factory R&D, Jak-Bakz Number Plates 4 Your Body, Husqvarna, Moto Tee’s, SixSixOne, Works Connection, Fasst Company, CHM System P-4R Exhaust, FactoryTeam2 Racing, Metal-Tek Bike Stands, Magura Clutches, Universal, DeVol Racing, SeriesTracker Scoring Software, ProValve, Sampson Communications, RG3 Suspension, Wiseco Pistons, MotocrossLive.com for all the webcasting exposure and Alternative Video Productions from Portland, Oregon as well as Jennifer Madsen, Mitch Kirkpatrick, Brian Barnes, the track promoters, their staff and all the track announcers. W4SN will once again present “Feel The Thump” with your support in 2004. Please get your sponsors involved and have them give us a call to help keep this highly competitive and visible series going in 2004 and beyond!! (503) 756-4782 Don Schneider.

Don,

ya still need to allow the a/f 500's in those races and make the series a true open class. :)

What's the novelty of a 4 stroke only series anymore? The 125 nationals will be 250F dominated and the 250 class is filling up with 450Fs. In a couple years it will be a novelty to have a 2 stroke national series.
