Hi, I am looking for some "constructive" help and advice. I am going to rebuild my son's engine soon and whilst I have all the parts I have never done this from a complete split of the engine.

Really the make of the engine is irrelevant but I ahve been advised to be careful about the squish band. (It must be between .6 and .7 of a millemetre.

Does anybody have any advice and how I should start and exactly what precautions I should take. Do I build and oil all the parts as I fit them? If so what oil do you use?

As I said you guys are far more experienced than I am so be gentle with me. I know I could send it to a local store but I want to learn.

I also forgot to ask, "how do you measure the squish band" and with what?
