As others have stated in the past, the MXC has a less than ideal transmission for many riding conditions. Stock is 14/52, (3.71) and I am currently running 13/52 (4.00). I seem to blow through the gears in the blink of an eye, mostly running 3rd in the woods. When things open up you only got 2 gears left which leaves you looking for 6th and even 7th..... would going to a 50T sprocket help me pull longer in each gear? 13/50 = 3.84 I like using only one or two gears at all times in the woods, but I start off in 2nd and shift immediately to 3rd, I just wish I could find a combination that would enable me to pull each gear longer... I know, I know , shoulda bought an EXC ;)

To start with, why don't you go back to the 14/52 combo? That would help the whole situation.

I run a 13/ 50 on my 01 250exc. Works better in tight woods for me than the stock 14/52
