how much of a differnce would you notice from the two? I have 3 quarts of belray 10w fork oil Ive had on the shelf for years and deciding if I should use it on my next service. I was told by someone to use 5w on my 06 yz 250. Deciding what to do

only use 5wt on the cartridge forks unless you revalve them for that heavier weight oil

Use the 10wt. You might not even notice a difference. You'll be able to make up the small variation with the clickers anyway.

Heavier oil will have a bigger impact on your rebound damping than on the compression side.

IMO, 10w will be a change for the worse.
