Can anyone tell me the difference between the 79 and 80 RM250. I know the rear fender, seat and decals are different but is there anyway to tell the diff for sure if there is no vin#?

I believe they are the same.
It is/was stamped in the frame pretty deep, wasn't it! I heard they can xray them and read the vin$$$
The front wheels were different as was the airbox. Fenders were different. Chain guides were different, steering stem and graphics. The motors were basically the same the frames were a little bit different because of the chain guides, swing arm chain buffers are different. Check Bikebandit.com for the parts diagrams to compare and see if there is more.
