Hello all, just acquired a 1980 KDX 175A and after inspection found the cylinder to be badly scored, although it does run/idle well it wont produce power under load. Piston and rings are brand new by previous owner. Is it possible to bore/hone or resleeve these cylinders? I was under the impression that because they were "FUSION" formed? that this could not be done. Any info would be great appreciated as I like the bike and would like to hang onto it.

It's very likely that you need to replace the crank seals and possibly the reeds.
Any cylinder can be resleeved if there is a place that offers sleeves for it. But a steel sleeve is not as good as a plated cylinder. Check with the businesses that can replate the cylinder and see if they can fill in the trenches before plating it.
