I recently finished restoring a 1979 Maico Magnum E 250 GS and just purchased a 1985 Husqvarna WR 400 last weekend and I'm beginning the tedious task of stripping the bike, cleaning, flushing, etc...I have a repair manual on the way, but in the meantime I'd like to know if anyone knowa the the transmission oil capacity for it? Thanks in advance!

Hey John.

I had two '85 WRs. I started with the '85 WR125 as my very first dirtbike. It was a ton of fun, but very down on power. Years later, I picked up an '85 WR250 out of a guys barn. The WR250 now lives next door with my neighbor and it's his primary trail bike.

Anyway, on your question, I don't recall off the top of my head. In fact, I'm pretty sure that the 400 doesn't share cases with the 250. But, if I had to guess, I would probably say that it's a little less than 2 quarts. Maybe 1.6 - 1.7 Litres.

I noticed that you're in columbia Maryland. My company's headquarters is in Columbia and I'm there at least every other week. Small world.
