I am just completing the build on a CRF150F supermotard bike and am seriously looking at a winter project to build a 85 trophy bike (will be adult ridden for fun).

Does anybody have some insight as to which one of the 85's has the most potential as a cross over supermoto/kart track/road race bike?

Will purchase bike and convert with 17" wheels and 125GP slicks, etc., but need input on motors and possible performance mods. Need to know which motor gives back when the $$$ are invested in porting, etc.

I have a CR85 expert and the motor is great. But its more top end rather than bottom end. Im sure you can work that out though with porting, pipes,V Force etc. If you would just want to run it stock i would go with the Suzuki. It has better bottom end, which i would think would be better for supermoto.

Thanks for the input. Have you tried a Moose torque spacer on the CR85? If so, how did it respond?

Highmileage,
I see that you are in Oregon. We are having a Supermoto race tomorrow at Pat's Acre's in Canby and there should be some fast 85's in the trophy class. I just got back from the track and it should be a great day for racing or spectating.

Nope, i never tried anything on my bike. The only things that arent stock on my bike is the bars, air filter, and the chain.
