OK, after some initial discouragement, my buddy and I got together and this is what we learned. The powervalve prevents interchangining top and bottom end, and the cylinder head has a miniscule different bolt pattern, but enough to prevent the swap to get both engine mounts of the '98 as opposed to one on the '91. The swingarm pivot mount, and 2 lower engine mounts match perfectly. The rear upper required shims and longer bolts to attach the engine securely. The reeds and cage swapped out no problemo, the '98 has 6 as opposed to the '91s 2, but fit nicely, and was in better shape, so I swapped it. the CDI hooked up easlily, black, yellow, and stripe.
BUTTTTTTT
My '98 will not fit, as the wider governer shaft cover gets in the way. Sooooooooo. We refilled the radiators, and lower end, and she fired up on 3 kicks (had to turn the gas on 'ya know) and seemed to rev just fine. I didn't ride it, as I need a pipe (it's kinda loud w/o it)
Anyways... I'm stoked that my bike is running again!!!!!
just wanted to give a report, thanks for all your input folks...
Gordo.
p.s. Anybody have a pipe for a '89-94 200?
