My 1996 has the stock 175 main in it. I believe the air screw is out about 1/2 - 3/4 turn out. I have done Boysen reeds, Uni-Filter, no airbox lid, FMF Fatty, and FMF PowerCore. All I've had to do so far is move the clip to the top position. Well, in doing my first top-end job last weekend, I found that the powervalve was pretty carb'd up and there are deposits in the head of my pipe. I assume it is rich, and have thought so for almost a year now. Well, I just picked up a 170 main, and I am wondering what you guys thought. I moved the clip back to the middle position and think I will put the 170 in after break-in of the new top-end. Thanks!!!

I'm going to guess that if it was the first time the PV was cracked open since the bike was new then you should expect some muck in there. If anything I'd say stay on the rich side with the 175 like you stated and see where it goes from there after break in. Leaning it out may be the thing to do once temps warm up.

Oh, and congrats on getting it done. Not that hard was it :thumb:

Nope...pretty fun actually...now if I could only get all my parts together. They should be in by middle next week I hope.
