I just got back into riding this year and purchased a '96 RM 250 in great shape. I really think the guy only rode it up and down his road.
Anyway to my problem. I am riding it 95% of the time in the woods and I race hare scrambles. The bike runs great and is fast. Actually too fast for me in the woods. I continue to foul plugs. Not when I am riding but when I start it the next day. (Have only fouled 2 plugs when riding).
First I moved my needle clip up 1 notch from stock and turned air screw out to 2 turns. No luck.
Next I changed my slow jet from the stock 58 to a 55. (Since I am off of the pipe a lot) I returned my clip to stock and air screw to 1.5 turns out. No luck the plug still fouled next day when started.
I can lean it out by moving clip back up or changing needle jet, but am worried about being too lean. Not really wanting to do a top end every few months.
Any suggestions??
