99 YZ125 cylinder

I just bought Erics book, and he says the cylinder isnt good, but never said what could happen. Is this something to really worry about? I dont race but i want to get into it(im a beginner). I remember reading about welding a certain spot but could someone guide me on what to do

Don't do anything. You have a great bike for a beginning mxer.
Don't worry about mods and such, you can fall into that trap later. For now keep your fluids changed on a frequent basis, keep nuts and bolts tightened, your chain lubed, and keep your air filter clean.
Ride the hinges off of it.

If you ever do go through the bottom end on that bike, do a search for "crank stuffers" first. But don't let it eat at you that there is a big problem.
