I was waiting at an intersection to cross the street the other day. I saw a man wearing dark sunglasses carrying a white cane with a service dog. The walk sign lit up and the man just stood there. When the light said "Don't Walk", the dog led the man into the intersection.
In disbelieve, I watched as cars swerved, skidded and barely missing the man and the dog, all the while cussing loadly out of the windows.
They finally made it to the other side of the street and as I was approaching them, the man reached into his pocket and pulled out a cookie and started to give it to the dog.
"That dog just about got you killed and now you are going to give him a treat?", I asked.
He replied, "As soon as I figure out which end is his head I'm going to kick him in the a$$!"
