Some of you may have noticed that on the 14th I added the line: "Members Online Today" to the bottom of the main page... It's been cool to see who is online at any given time, but I wanted to see how many members (does not add "guests" to the total) logged on in a days time.

We may set the new mark today :) Come on 1,400!

Side note, a little FYI: Comparing the members logged-on count to the server stats, a clear picture of the number of lurkers we have each day; there are more lurkers than members! We average 4800 distinct visitors each day on average, yet it appears that less than half of that number have actually joined. Wonder if all the lurkers know there are more forums seen by members? ;)

Mr. Okiewan,

Is it reasonable to assume that there are people out there who cannot join because they only have "freebie" email addresses?

That would be a part of it I'm sure. Unfortunatley, we've got to deal with the dweebs that join, raise hell, get banned and come back with yet another freebie account. Get's old trying to keep the noise level down. It's a matter of selecting the lessor of two evils :ugg:

What I wonder is how many of the members have posted in a period. For example, in thirty days how many of the different members have been back. Is that info available? Is it something that can or should be shared? I know we have 10,000 plus members, how many of thosse are active?

The info you want isn't readily available, but if you scroll to the top of the page and click on "Members", you can extrapolate from the list of posters.

Pack a lunch. . .

for some wierd reason when the forums got redone, dell30rb got screwed. So I created dell30rb1 Also it will occasionally do that "you are not logged in" thing and where it should have the login box thing it will say "users logged in: dell30rb1 (logout)" So there is nothing i can do
