Sunday 12/02/01 I enter my third race ever , it was the GNC regional qualifier at Moiser Valley TX.
I arrived at 6:15am signed in and practice started on schedule at 7:15am. The races started pretty much on schedule at 8:45am.
The track was in great shape and as always the people at Moiser Valley did a great job of running the event.
Lucky for me I had the 5th moto of the day, Originally I did not realize how lucky this was but as the day drug on and on I realized just how lucky I was.
My second moto didn't start until around 3:30pm some 5 1/2 hrs after my first moto ended. By the time I got loaded up and left (forget any trophy I may have had won) I had been at the track for 10 hrs! If I would have had the last moto of the day I belive it was number 30 I wouldn't have gotten out of there until after 9:00pm making it a 15hr day.
Any way, I just want to say that this is by no means a flame against Moiser Valley they did a great job running the races they combined classes where they could and didn't even have an Intermission to try and speed things up.
My Questions:
Why so many Mini and below classes?
Is there anything else that can be done to speed things up?
I understand that everyone wants to win and the track makes money with every entry and Mini rides and below seem to enter multiple classes but I just can't invest that much time in one day to racing. I ride for fun but like the challenge of a race. It gives me something to work toward, but from know on I will just be going to practices.
