From RacerX online
JamSports and AMA Pro Racing today announced the list of major-market cities that will constitute the 2003 AMA U.S. Supercross Championship. The season will kick off in Los Angeles on January 4 and conclude in New York on May 3.

The cities included in the 2003 AMA U.S. Supercross season are: New York, Los Angeles (two rounds), Atlanta, Dallas, Houston, Phoenix, Indianapolis, Las Vegas, Washington D.C., San Francisco, Boston, New Orleans, Charlotte, Tampa, and Daytona.
Still no Seattle, though. :(

I thought Clear Channel signed with Tx Stadium..........is the AMA gonna race a different venue? I'm not sure how big the floor is, but that new American Airlines Center would be a cool place to host a race.

I can't believe they are dropping the Minneapolis SX round! I think Mpls has come very close to selling out every year. The Mpls round draws fans from N. Dakota, S. Dakota, Nebraska, Iowa and Wisconsin. I live in the Mpls area and have attended the SX every year it has been here. Anyone have details on the city selection process? I feel like I just got Jam'med :(

Ok...I'm ready to vomit. I can't believe that they're dropping the Minneapolis round.

I go every year. We have about 60,000 seats available in the Metrodome and we sell out almost every year.

To make matters worse...I had already bought my tickets for this year (great seats too!) and just found out that my business is taking me to Japan and Hong Kong. As luck has it, it'll be over the Supercross weekend. So, it appears that I'll miss what will probably turn out to be the last Supercross in Minneapolis.

Crap.

Do not fret, my Minnesotan friends. Look at this year's schedule--that's what Clear Channel's schedule will be in 2003. These listed here are just the AMA rounds. Granted, not all the riders will be at each event, and we don't know where the chips are gonna fall, but everyone that has a supercross this year will have one next.

I just hope CCE and the AMA will get their acts together so this split won't happen!

The split WILL happen. As long as CCE continues to show X games re-runs 30 times insteading of showing an SX event why would AMA want to stay. I would have been willing to watch at least 3 or 4 events even if they were pay-per-view, but CCE only had ONE ppv and what 2 or 3 combined SX/MX events all year and then the constantly changed when they were showing them.

Speedvision should do so much better of a job. Which will either draw all the big names to the AMA series, or force CCE to ACTUALLY show some SX/MX events on ESPN2. Either way, the fans who don't have many or any events near them and want to watch from home will be better of than they were.
