The 2002 has the GP Control system. The electronic fuel-injection and engine management system can be easily be customized to maximize performance. The system features a flash memory programmable ECU (Engine Control Unit), w/ a fuel map that allows you to down load your riding style through a lap top. Electronic fuel-injection monitors automatically compensates for changes in, temperature and air pressure to constantly deliver the proper fuel/air mixture to the engine. I find better horsepower, better throttle response, improved cold and hot starts, reduced stalling, and better idling. Maintenance is also simplified, since fuel-injection replaces a standard carburetor that would normally need to be re-jetted for changes in altitude or seasonal changes in weather. It has a barometric sensor unit!
Sorry for the book. The colors are stealth. I would choose the black and silver over the others. Everyone else has an orange, yellow, red, blue, green bike.... I'm polishing the double spar aluminum frame and swing arm to a mirror like finish.
The cylinder is backwards so the air filter is behind the front number plate (cleanest spot on the bike). Easy access. The exhaust pipe is short and throaty.
They put reusable/cleanable oil and transmission filters. No more buying filters. One more thing, electric start :scream:
