Pyro - the friction from the shot bearings can affect the measurement of the sag if you don't use the setting method I detailed in the last post. I haven't checked for what spring would be ideal for you. I'll have a look tonight. Initially I wouldn't change it till you've done the oil and linkage. Release the gas pressure if you haven't already. Next you need to remove the compression adjuster to drain the oil. The adjuster may have a couple of peens (punch marks) which stop it from coming out. These need to be CAREFULLY drilled out with a small drill about 2-3mm and only drill in as little as possible - maybe 2mm or so. Then the adjuster can be unscrewed from the body and the oil drained. You will fill and bleed the shock through this hole so make some kind of cone like plug with a hose out of it leading to a bottle which you hang above the shock. Put a small breather hole in the highest point of the bottle. Make the hose as large as practical so the air bubbles can travel easily up it. Make yourself some pieces of wood to grip the shock in the vise so the adjuster hole is the highest point and you can stroke the shaft fully in and out. Get 1L of oil of a good brand in medium viscosity or whatever your dealer recommends. By the way how close is the nearest shop from you? Kiwi
