Any other weather nuts like myself that enjoy DRN? If so, check this out:

http://www.weatherimages.org/forums/

Kind of looks a little familiar, eh? They even have cool little cloud and twister Avata... (oops, almost said it) I meant it is similar in style. I just signed up there today using the same name I have here, so if you end up there, PM me when you get there if you want.

I hope this isn't considered spam, as it is merely based on weather, Now when has weather ever hampered or competed with Dirtbiking?? :think On second thought, don't answer that..

Cool. The Prez of our company is a weather nut, his wife got him a Tornado Chaser trip from Christmas and he freaked out. Man you would have thought he won a trip to Dirt Week or something.:)

Man I'm jealous! My brothers and I are dying to go on one of those trips. We get enough WX related entertainment here in GA to keep me moderatly involved. I am trying to get the opportunity to get Spotter Training and get certified, but I missed out last spring. Maybe this year! :)

While I don't consider myself a weather nut by an means, my whole working life seems to revolve around it.

If the weathers bad, I'm working :(

I work for the Colo. DOT and my office is in charge of weather info across the state.

Check this out www.COTrip.org its our site.

Awsome site Rod! You folks are busy in CO! Winter and fall you're playin' in the snow and spring and summer you're avoiding lightening storms and tornado's. The DOT must be hoppin' all year. Looks like fun! :) I would'nt mind doing weather observation for CO!

How 'bout that- I'm an oxygen nut myself. Sorry, just find it wierd to be hooked on the weather. I mean- stick your head outside and it's some form of weather. Hot weather, cold weather, dry weather, wet, foggy, icy, windy, snowy, mild, cloudy, clear.... and on and on... why not pick a hobby that's not so... I don't know how to say it.... not so "regularly occuring"? "Hi, I'm Joe and my hobbies are the weather, hours of the day, and shadows!" :p :p :p

However, FWIW this is coming from the same guy who got to the Grand Canyon, looked up and down, and was then ready to go home.

Gotta love your perspectives Zio! :)

Where you see hot, cold, wet, snow, wind, etc.... I see questions. Why is it snowing? Why is it cold? Why was it 15 degrees yesterday and 68 degrees today? Why is the ceiling so low during severe weather outbreaks? How do windshifts at certain levels effect Mesoscale Development? The questions can go on and on. But it is all about learning and sharing with others and also developing your own conclusions. It's all for fun. Kind of like dirt bikes. :)

Let me answer these for you, and you can get on with your life!!! Snowing? The gods are bored, and want to make snowmen.

Why is it cold?

Some god is going through menopause

Why was it 15 degrees yesterday and 68 degrees today?

Hot flashes come and go, you know.

Why is the ceiling so low during severe weather outbreaks?

Sinus pressure affects the gods, too, albeit in a much more dramatic way. Deal with it.

How do windshifts at certain levels effect Mesoscale Development?

Honestly, Mesoscale doesn't mind that much. He just told me he's getting along fine, although algebra isn't as easy as he was lead to believe, but that has nothing to do with the wind I'm sure.

The questions can go on and on. But it is all about learning and sharing with others and also developing your own conclusions. It's all for fun. Kind of like dirt bikes. :)

Not anymore, now that you've got me here!!! And I definately agree with you on that last point- dirtbikes are great, Andy!!!:)

No, XRP- it's the split seconds of sunshine that they're all fixated on. When the clouds part it's like ants under a magnifying glass! I guess it's their version of Tornados in a Trailer Park.:p

Actually, I didn't know there was a such thing as a weather nut.:think

I'm right there with you, Rod. :ugg: Except now, instead of being in the cab of a road grader (or running a #2 with my overshoes and a raincoat on), I'm the desk jockey that has to answer the phone. It's a little warmer in here. ;)

Being Weather nut is somewhat of a disease or an addiction. It may require therapy. Zio somehow presented possibly WA for Weatheraholics Anonymous with "Hi My name is Joe....". This is somewhat accuarate I think. :) It is when you can't put the darn WX Radio down, or days off from work you spend at 6 hours of that day watching the Weather Channel only wishing that they would air re-runs of past great weather events eg-Superstorm '93, or the tornado outbreak here in GA that occured on 4\8\1998. I would love to see these re-runs. It is when you hear thunder and you stumble around for your camera and camcorder, and click on the WX channel, flip on your laptop for realtime doppler and Satallite imagery and turn on your WX Radio and scanner and your wife looks at you like you need help. It's when youare the only one driving down I-75 when there are 60+ MPH wind gusts and driving rain and large hail bouncing off your windsheild and your WX radio is cranking. This is when you may be a weather nut. I Just thought I would fill you in. But if I have any questions RE: specific theories in meteorology, I am going straight to Zio next time.

XRP, I too am unfortunatly stuck in a cube answering calls. It sucks to be inside on a stormy day! ;)

I like the weather too! I used to live in Wichita , KS and man let me tell ya. You learn real quick what to look for in the spring and summer months. It could get real nasty real quick up there.
