The kid is getting an 02 RM125; he raced an 01 last season. I was wondering if any of youses have some comments on the upgrades & improvements on the 02? No magazine test quotes, please; I've already read them. :D

I found a thread about the 02 RM 125. But I can't get the link to work :think
If you use the search function? search 02 RM 125 and look in the CR/KX/RM/YZ forum.
I know thats not much help, but I can never get thread links to work, sorry.

MotoX,

Thanks for the idea. I believe I had read and replied on the thread you were mentioning.

Oh well, I guess it doesn't matter anyways; the bike is on its way, better or worse. From what I read, it is better.

We seem to be lacking on RM reviews. If you could post one after riding the 02 it would be greatly appreciated. IMO, reviews by real people are much better than the mag tests.

MotoX,
There seems to be a shortage of reviews on almost all the new bikes. I can almost round up more reviews within my race bud circle. :scream:

I won't be able to get any impressions on the 125 until maybe March; it's winter up here. :ugg:

One thing, though, about the reviews. Sometimes, the magazines, as lame as they may be, are better than some personal reviews. You never know what sort of yardstick the other guy is measuring the bike against. For all you know, he used to ride a TT125! :)

I think you mean TT-R 125. I'm pretty sure most of the mag test riders have ridden them , too.
We're all looking forward to your "expert" analysis.:silly:

the 02' ROCKS!!

Joe all you really need to know is the 02' DIALED. Having discussed the 02' a bit already with you i'm surprised you're even asking on here. Excel rims, seemingly better quality thruout, faster on top.....AND cooler graphics!!! lol.
A little jetting work is all that's required. Hopefully if I jet mine crisper, I will stand a chance of hanging with that kid of yours....yeah RIGHT!!!! Hell i'll be damn lucky if I can hang with YOU for anymore than a few turns...time will tell.

Grunk,
Thanks for the input. I was hoping that there might a few of the peeps with some more input. BTW, don't go selling yourself short; you do hold up pretty good at the HS's, especially Millville.

Vic,
A TT"R"125... Oh yeah, those are the FAST ones!!! :) Next spring, I'll see if one of the racer buds' girlfriends will borrow me hers, so I can have a RM125/250 vs TTR125 shootout. It could be close....

Everyone knows that people who used to ride KDXs are the only qualified test riders.
Joe is way too sexy for his shirt.

I'm thinking of buying a new bike. I had been seriously considering the '02 RM 125... should I get a TTR 125 instead?

Thanks in advance for any advice :)

No question about it; go for the TTR125. But, be sure to get the "R" model; don't be fooled by the lower quality plain Jane model. BTW, your wife will absolutely LOVE it! :)
