Anyone hear anything more on a YZ150F?

I know they were testing a prototype in the last two years, but has anyone heard anything lately?

MXA says it's sitting in a warehouse waiting for the AMA to get off their asses and make a decision on the cc limit for the four strokes in the 85cc class.

nikki - I emptied my boxes. I only had 4 in both in and sent I figured it would hold more than that....

My husband thinks I should wait until they release these to get a new bike. I haven't ridden a "big" bike, only my TTR, and he thinks this should be my next step. I'm not sure I can wait that long!!!

Since this 150F thing would be a mini, shouldn't yawl be posting over there in the mini bike forum?

I didn't know which to post in since it would be a mini thumper.....

I figured the 2 stroke mini group could care less about a mini thumper.

I think I am actually leaning more towards a KX 100. But I'm not convinced I ride in the upper part of the powerband enough to ride a 2 stroke.

Thanks for the info.

Higher RPM's is where IC engines make the most horsepower, why wouldn't you ride any bike, regardless of two vs four stroke, at an rpm where it makes the most horsepower?

I'm a 37 y.o. mother of two, that likes going fast but doesn't like getting hurt.
I have tried to ride my son's KX85 but I always foul his plug because I don't keep the throttle open as long as he does!!!

I have only been riding a little more than a year and I often get nervous when the bike seems to be going faster than I feel I can control.

I'm sure after more bike time I will do better, but right now I am more of a lugger when it comes to a riding style....

We are in the same boat. My wife really needs more than her TTR125L now. She can jump good and everything and needs better suspension and a lot more power. I don't want to get her a two stroke and she's too short for big four strokes so we're waiting for a YZF150 that she can ride for MX and keep her TTR for trails. The only other option I was thinking of is a YZF250 with suspension lowered a few inches but that will still be big and heavy for her so we're just going to wait for the 150.

We were considering the WR250F. With the kickstand and the electric start we figured it would be a little easier to get going, but once I stop I'll probably still be in trouble. The suspension linkage doesn't look like something my husband can rig, and we don't want to lay out $5500 for the bike and another $600 for suspension.
I just put new springs in the front forks of my TTr and I can't wait until this weekend to see how it handles during a race.

srellis, about any bike can be lowered by a competent suspension tuner for the $300-$350 range, referring to your WR250 idea. I rode last night with a vertically challenged young lady on a KX100 at 9k feet. She did just fine on it. Hill climbs can be a learning curve, but at moderate trail speeds she was not WAAAAA F O all the time. It seemed to pull pretty well in the mid-range.

If money is not an issue, a breathed on TTR motor in a CR80 chassis with BBR's aid is about as perfect as you can get for this application. A friend (40ish hair and hare scambler in TX) went from a KX100 to the BBR CR80/TTR125 and just loves it.

Just cuz the rumored YZ150F is a 4 stroke does not mean it will be all that much easier to ride than the 85s or 100. It still has to make competitive HP, and to do that will take RPM.

That wouldn't be the Dreaded Jen (aka CJ Rider) would it? She flat out moves on that thing. And apparently gets around (I mean that in a good way :) )
