Anyone heard from GSR and TTRGuy lately?

Was talking to Al (Agent Orange) today and he had mentioned that we hadn't seen either of them around lately. Al is a mortgage broker and was offering some home buying advice a few weeks ago, I believe. Are they here in the great MidWest house hunting?

We just got back last night. I've been thawing out ever since.
I think TTRGuy may be reconsidering taking me along..... I hit the outdoors and start wailing "ouch....bitter cold....stinging........pain......." He looks over at me in my 15 layers of clothing (while he's only wearing a T-shirt) like I'm some sort of freaking loone.
TTRGuy: "Aimee, it's only 30 degrees, it's not even cold!"
Me: "Whatever, bite me!!"
Did I meantion I get extremely crabby when I'm cold?

Had a really good time. The midwest is......well, different.
I think I've already put on 20lbs from the trip. Does the term sushi mean nothing to you people?! ;)

Really, I'm sure it's quite beautiful there once everything ceases to be DEAD!! :p I plan to get one of those jobs that allows me to hybernate in the winter. :)

We did look at some houses. Unbelievable....staggering, it just blows my mind, I had no idea. Now I understand why so many people here (DRN) my age can afford to be buying houses! Something that was once a goal in about 40 or 50 years (or a few 'bank jobs') in my mind is actually possible in no time out there.

We'll know more in about a month. In the mean time I'm working on a master plan to somehow scootch the state of Missouri down towards the ocean. :)

On the bright side, by the time you guys get here the temperature should be on the upswing. Some winters are very mild and some are intensly cold. Last year was the coldest ever. I was mowing my yard into the second week in November and the next week, there was an ice storm and I swear we didn't get above freezing for 3 months! But I also remember back on New Year's Day 1997 it was something like 65 degrees in the middle of the day. Most of the time, however, the really cold spells will only last a few days. Personally, I'm pretty happy as long as the sun is out. And yes, the dead brown and grey kinda get you down after a while, but soon enough it will be Springtime-That's when the tornadoes come!:scream:

pffft -- flatlanders . . . :silly:

Glad I'm up here in the NW. There may be snow, it may get cold, but we don't have no dang ol' tornadoes! :scream:

Just watch out for the old women on bicycles, speedy: "I'll get you, my pretty! And your little dog, too!"

That reminds me so much of 1998, when I moved Mrs. Woods from Houston, TX to Bourbonnais, IL. This is actually the first winter she hasn't been complaining about freezing her a$$ off and it's just as cold here in NY.

Maybe it's due to the fact she's almost 8 mos. pregnant. :think

Missouri........ My wife and I almost made that mistake last year:)

She wanted to move out there to be closer to her mom. Fortunately my work stepped up with a pretty good offer and we stayed. Now we are happily 6 months into a new house.

Also on the plus side her parents are now trying to move out here.

Good luck...... Ohhh and from what I understand a good snowblower will come in handy out there.

Sushi means vinegar rice, not raw fish.

Sashimi (sp?) is raw fish.

I only mention this, so when GSR takes you out to dinner in the West sometime, you will be politically correct (mandatory in the United Liberal Counties of California)

If you aren't eating the raw fish type of 'Sushi', it is actually very good. Raw fish - maybe once a year (on a dare).

My friend Dave eats that stuff, so I know it's available here. It may be low-grade, injection-molded fish factory floor-sweepings, but it's available.
I've never tried it myself. I've never been in such a hurry that I didn't have time to cook my fish.:D

In St. Louis?? Ppffft. Average ANNUAL snowfall is only 19.8 inches, with about 6 days of 1" or more of snow. You can use a broom to sweep off your steps with that type of snowfall!!

Kiwi, Cal City is on! We'll be there around 9ish Sat morning. Chris will be there Fri night. There will be a large group of about 20+ riders on Sat. Man, I'm gonna miss my fellow socal riders :(

With regards to Sushi/Sashimi (I love them both but prefer sashimi) don't knock it till you try it! I'd take some nice octopus over Patman's crazy concoctions any day! :scream:

Geeze.
There's a good sushi place not 10 minutes from my house.
Cold? It hasn't been cold here yet! 2 weeks before Christmas, we were boating on the Mississippi.
Besides, when it really DOES get cold, we just go someplace warm!;)
