why has no 1 ever said how awesome the cr480r is [83 model] any 1 have any opinion on how to firm up the shock on the cheap?

just put heavier weight shock oil in it.
or take it apart and add some shims to the valving. (get from MX-Tech)

thk you for info I bought the cr480r to sell but I just cant part with it now it really flies

These early single shock Pro Links had a crazy leverage ratio. A stiff spring for a 180 pound rider is something like 9.2kg . If you are serious about your 480, getting it dialed for your weight will give you a bike that turns as good or better than anything made today
