Well ya see, you get at least 2 benches and....
The art of bench racing. Sitting around (best to be around a campfire with appropriate beverage and not by yourself) talking about racing/riding. Tales are usually exaggerated, some more than others. When bench racing, it's necessary that all jumps are bigger, corners faster, gears higher and laps shorter.
who wants some smores? My fav bench racing story has to be the guy who claims he jumped an xr 80 off a 30 foot drop off and rode it out. It was like this one time (in band camp) .... haha.
Well, I knew I get hammered for that question. Deservedly so. Anyhow, I guess me and the boys have been bench racing for a while. We've got some great stories
Well, I know for a FACT that my bench with a Blaster motor is faster than my buddy's bench with an RM80 motor . . . I had to fire up the Waaahmbulance to take him home.
Well I have actually witnessed a fuel injected supercharged turbo RM80 beat a Blaster at our track. That Blaster was fast, I'm tellin ya, but it was no match for that slightly modified RM. I took pictures to prove it, but I lost'em, so you'll just have to believe that I'm tellin the honest to god truth!!
My bench hasn't been cornering too good when I come off the brush finished concret in the drive onto the smooth finish in the garage through the small door. I have lowered the front legs, put on softer compound casters and I get way up on the front for extra weight, what else can I do? :) :) Maybe it's that Rotax 700 twin putting out too much power?
RoosteR-- If you can't get the right hook up, you may want to send it to Eric for some porting to smooth out the power band, also, have you tried setting up the race sag for your weight? That REALLY helps your cornering. Good Luck, and let us know when you get your setup right. We can all learn from your experience.
I just picked up an '03 bench from lowes, this year they have lowered the seat height, added some ground clearance, plus they have Powered coated the frame; Now I can tell you for a fact, that with the right mix of campfire and chilled beverage, this thing can smoke any bench out there.
Well, I reset the race sag, and that helped a lot. The engine work was already done (it came out of my '02 MXZ700 Renegade, speaking of benches). Now, in light of seeing JPIVEY's ride, I am going to have to upgrade to a newer model. Mine is the bench from Forrest Gump, so it is obviously not going to compete with this. I really need to win the lottery. :) :)
