best 2004 250 MX'er for the woods racer

ok all you woods racers... which 2004 250 MX bike gets the nod as the best starting point for a woods racer, and tell us why!!

I'm not a woods RACER(just for fun) but I believe the KX250 would whip them all. It has a more bottom to mid range hit. Just about any Kaw will do the trick.

Have read the new yz has a smooth powerband and good power thru the entire range. Look at the reviews on it - seems a good bike for what you want.

Well this isnt an mx model but its wayyy better for trails...KTM 250exc or 300exc

my rm250 just got revalved for woods by mcr. i also picked up a fat bar ( enduro bend ) rally pro handguards,
eline pipe guard, devol radiator braces, eline glid plate and an ims tank... should have a 10oz weight before weeks end... :ohmy:

The new CRF 250X received bike of the year honors. I'm not a huge honda fan, But outside of the KDX 200/220 for the play around rider (it won best bang for the buck) & the KTM 250sx for the serious rider, I would give the CRF 250X a good look.

Curious, why buy an mx bike when you can get a bike that's ready(i.e. - ec, exc, wr, etc.)
