If you want a good long lasting spocket I would go with a steel one Jt makes good ones. Theres a 4oz. difference and the steel one will last alot longer. Run Jt sprockets with a good chain and it will last you a full year.

Sprocket Specialists has fit my bill every time.
Price and availability are on the mark.
I had one experience with krause and it was a red label order cod for a emergency.
I got the package and it had a crummy hat in it and the sprocket was backordered. They charged me for the hat too.
When the c/s sprocket came a week too late it had a sprocket specialists stamp on it.
Their customer support was zero too.
I will never give them another penny that I work my butt off for.

If you ride the bike your name implies, you may be hard on the sprocket specialists product. They use pretty soft steel. Yea, should wear better than alu, but the 426 may chew them up.

I've got an AFAM alu on the 300 right now and it is holding up pretty well...

I don't know, I had a sprocket specialist 51t rear sprocket on my KX500 for two and a half years until it got stolen, with an RK O-ring chain. It was still in good shape when it left me.

Cool, Cam.

The last one I had was really getting peened hard and starting to widen out. I think the secret may be to order 3 fronts and 1 rear and change the fronts at the first sign of wear. Once one gets worn then the chain starts to stretch in a hurry.

Just curious, what kind of chain were you using? I'm pretty good with keeping my chain adjusted properly, so I seem to be able to get at least a season out of anything. I got a season and a half out of my OEM sprockets on my '00 KX250, with a Regina o-ring chain. They're still on there now, but they're due for replacement.

Another mention, I don't lube my chains.. Ever. I clean them but never lube them.
I had a leaking countershaft seal that was a self-lubricator for the chain, my chain seemed to stretch a lot on the several rides while it was getting self-lubed with warm tranny fluid, up until I fixed the leak.

DID Xring chain will last the life of your bike man. For example, my dad's xring has been through 2 toro races (one being a mud run) and about 4 play rides and we haven't adjusted it once. For comparison, my oring chain has gone from decent to toast in the same time period with a little less riding on it. I just got Sprocket Specialists aluminum and a DID Xring for mine.
