my son has a 2006 rm 85.that he is getting tall for.i have a big wheel kit from a 2005 model and was told it would work on the 2006 model.is this true,and what kind of work is involved with
the conversion?where should the forks be in the triple clamps etc.
any help would be great.

If I remember correctly, the swingarm is an inch longer on the "L" models. You may have clearance problems with the 16" rear wheel, but I doubt it. Easy enough to check. Other than that, you would need to drop the forks in the clamps about an inch.

'05 had some changes, but I think '06 was mostly "BNG". You may also want to look at a taller handlebar arrangement, and make sure he's wearing knee pads. :)
