Glad you guys had fun! Hey, I rode the race too, just found this post though. :coocoo: Little background on myself, My dad used to be the president of TTR and BJEC in the mid-late 90's. So if you guys have been around awhile, should remember the Shoalmire's That me. I took about 5 years off from riding and woke up one morning this past march and decided I needed a new bike and should start riding again. So I picked up an 05 CRF 250X and went out play riding the very next day. Went to a couple hare scrambles won one, had bike problems at the next, getting bumped out of c class along the way. So that brings me to Scipio, my first enduro in about 6 years. I thought long and hard about what class to ride and decided to enter in the most competitve short course class, C250 on row 31, right there with Shane Roberts a really fast 17year old in the A class (brought back memories of myself at that age). I had fun the first loop getting myself re-accustomed to riding the rocks. I remembered "Hey, I grew up on Zink ranch, rocks are awesome, bring it on!" The second loop, I knew the grass track was going to be a clusterF so I blitzed through it blazing my own trail at most every creek crossing and came out with a time that surprised even me after looking over the results. the next two tests went off smoothly, save for my 3 bone headed spills trying to pass one guy in the last half mile of the 3 test that loop!!! :bang: :bang: In the end, i felt pretty good with my ride. I wasn't as worn out as I thought i would be. But i wasn't sure were i would be in the results. I knew there were fast guys in the c classes at hare scrambles races i had attened in the weeks before, and i knew i had had two problem tests... I waited near the score tables with anticipation. As the results were posted I looked them over and quickly ducked my head and headed for the truck. I had won my class by over 6 minutes and overalled c/short course by over a minute. I compared times with B and A classes, if i had entered B, and continued with my pace, i could have overalled B... If i had entered A, i would have been top 15.... Guess i'm not as old and slow as i thought, I'll be entered in B class at Flatriver :ride: Jon S.
