Today I went into our local BLM office and could believe all the great information they had... They have the greatist topographical maps for sale, of every square inch of the country... Not only that but they also have different scales of maps, for sale as well... They have two maps just for the tiny town were I live I could'nt believe it... The maps show all kinds of stuff about the town were I live I'd never have even known about otherwise... These maps have so much great information, and the names of geographical features, and names of things you'd never know about otherwise, hot springs or random trails, mt. what's it called behind the house ect... Also they show were you can find first aid, or urgent care if you need it... It sucks to not be injured bad enough for an ambluence but injured bad enough for the first aid kit to be almost worthless sitting out in the dez... It's nice to know were to go in that situation to get some stitches, or something like that... They also show were fees are collected, or if there is camping, or if the land is 2wd accessable... They show if the land you want to ride is even legal, or private, or whatever... This may seem like a stu*pid post, like of course BLM sells maps, then see this as a reminder... Information can keep you legal, keep more places open... The Maps will make you more informed, and safer and show you stuff about your own town or favorite riding spots you did'nt know about...
