Blue motors?

My '80 KDX175 has a blue motor. Somebody painted over it in black, but it's peeling. My factory service manual shows a black motor.

Do I have an '80 KDX175 powerplant, or did someone slip something else in there over the years? It would help to know when buying parts.

Don't know of any KDXs that came with blue motors, but some of the mid '80's RM Suzukis had blue motors.

It's a Kawasaki motor. It looks just like the one in the manual --- except the color. Did KX 125's ever have blue ones?
