my front end seems to go all over the place when i get in a sandy corner, or when I am trying to change lines before the corner. What should be my position on the bike be before and during the corner?
in sand you want to keep the front end light so it rides on top of the sand. In the corner, in sand I din't shift my weight as far forward as usual, and I get on the gas mugh sooner. Sand = on the gas. (that steers with the rear)
well said yardpro. mometum is your friend in sand, as soon as you get on the brakes the front end will dig in and either tuck under or go all over the place
We call it "tuck and roll". Grew up and currently live in the outer banks of NC. All sand. you can really haul in the stuff if you keep it pinned. the faster you go the easier it is. It took me a while to gt used to clay. That stuff hurts a helluva lot more when you perform an unscheduled exit from your machine.
